October sees the start of the reading season. Gone are the light reads of summer, where we sit on the beach with a mojito or sangria and try to hold onto the plot. October is serious reading now. For the wonderful, fiery and bright month that is October, five books I managed to find with October in the title.
October the First is Too Late by Fred Hoyle
A science fiction story about time travel where a man disappears during a climbing expedition. When he returns a birth mark has vanished. This is followed by strange events that change history.
The October Horse by Colleen McCullough
A story of Julius Caesar and Cleopatra, one of the most famous stories in a background of intrigue and politics
October Country by Ray Bradbury
A collection of nineteen short stories suitable for this month and Halloween. A fan of Bradbury's, this is a good book to read on dark nights sitting by the fire.
